NIGERIA INTERNATIONAL POULTRY SUMMIT-18TH JUNE-21ST JUNE, 2017

By Bede

The Nigerian Poultry Industry is estimated to have 166 million birds, which produced 650,000 metric tonnes of eggs and 290,000 metric tonnes of meat in 2013 and the population of egg producing birds far exceed that of meat producing birds. Formulated feeds account for 60-80% of the recurrent cost of rearing laying birds and poultry feeds account for over two third of all commercial feed produced in Nigeria. However, providing adequate and quality feeds remains a major challenge in the poultry industry in Nigeria. The problem of feed availability in the poultry industry is due to insufficient local production of maize, soya bean meal and other feed stuffs and limited storage and preservation facilities among others.

The 6th NIPS promises to be very interesting and rewarding for all participants and stakeholders in the Nigeria Poultry Industry. The organizing committee hereby invites every stakeholder to make it a date with us at Ife and be part of this milestone. The conference will cover areas like Policy, science, technology and innovation to optimise nutrition in Nigeria poultry industry and much more.

Date: 18th June-21st June, 2017

Venue: Conference Centre, OAU, Ile Ife Osun State. Nigeria
