The seed of David
By Bede
A seed is a substance that is used for planting or regeneration purpose which include seedlings, seeds, tuber, bulbs, rhizome, roots, cuttings, setts, slips used for production purpose. All seeds need water, oxygen, and certain temperature in order to germinate. Some plant germinate better in full light while others require darkness to germinate.
Germination is therefore, the process by which a plant grows from a seed i.e it is the process of developing a new plant. The most common example of germination is the sprouting of a seedling from a seed of an angiosperm or gymnosperm. In other words, there is a need for seed to be covered in the soil, die, sprout and develop into new plant. This can be liken to the parable of our Lord Jesus Christ that as seed needs to be covered in the soil and dies before it will germinate to develop into tree and bear fruit.
Jesus Christ, the seed of David, came to this world of sins and corruptions to die for all human kinds including the most wicked people and rose on the third day. Since then he lives forever. The good thing to note is that Jesus Christ did not die for a particular person, tribe, religion, society or country but he died for all. Easter period is the time to appreciate his death and come back to him as many that have gone astray. Give your life to Jesus today and accept him as your Lord and Saviour because He is the way, truth and the life.
