The Wonders of Bitter Kola

Bitter kola is a native of tropical and subtropical regions of Africa. It has been tagged “wonder plant” because of its multi-functional benefits.

Bitter kola is a rich source of vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A, C, E, B1, B2, B3 potassium, fiber, calcium, iron and other antioxidants.

Traditionally, bitter kola has served as a natural snake repellant and has the ability to repel snakes of all species and size in a radius of almost a mile. The bitter tastes and strong smell of the plant can discomfort and disorientate snakes when they slither over them. Grinded bitter kola can also be applied to the floor of the house to scare snake away.

Bitter Kola has a high level of antioxidant which helps the body to increase its immunity levels.

Studies have shown that bitter kola is great for liver detoxification. When food is suspected to be contaminated, chewing bitter kola can help neutralize the effect of the poison.
