Updated 2017 Seasonal Rainfall Pattern (SRP) In Nigeria

Knowing the seasonal rainfall pattern is one of the major factor that an average business-oriented farmers should consider in planning for their annual rain-fed farming operations.

In view of this and as part of our efforts at KWARA AGRO MALL to ensure that farmers (not only those in KWARA) succeed in their various operations in the 2017 Farming season, we have been in close romance with sources from the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) for the 2017 SRP in each and every major towns and cities around us.

Below is thus the projected seasonal rainfall pattern for 2017 (according to NIMET) and this should be carefully reviewed by and incorporated into the plans of every farmers, agric financing institutions and agricultural policy makers for informed decisions:

*Abeokuta:*
onset- 16 March,
End of season- 4 Dec, Rainfall amount- 1304mm

*Ado Ekiti:*
onset- 17 March,
End of season- 14 Dec, Rainfall amount- 1382mm

*Akure:*
onset- 16 March,
End of season- 7 Dec, Rainfall amount- 1435mm

*Asaba:*
onset- 2 April,
End of season- 17 Dec, Rainfall amount- 1877mm

*Awka:*
onset- 26 March,
End of season- 27 Nov, Rainfall amount- 1920mm

*Benin:*
onset- 16 March,
End of season- 16 Dec, Rainfall amount- 2160mm

*Ibadan:*
onset- 18 March,
End of season- 5 Dec, Rainfall amount- 1253mm

*Ijebu:*
onset- 25 March,
End of season- 23 Dec, Rainfall amount- 1500mm

*Ikeja:*
onset- 12 March,
End of season- 18 Dec, Rainfall amount- 1400mm

*Ilorin:*
onset- 16 April,
End of season- 19 Nov, Rainfall amount- 1230mm
